UPDATED 28th
October 2010
(covering
Clubmans, Cobras, Birkins, Harrisons, RCR, CTC,Ultima GTR, etc)
NSW RTA have
indicated that the following ADRs specific information is required as part of
the certification process.
ADR
3/03:
SEATS & SEAT ANCHORAGES
Seat anchorage
test results are required, not just Summary of Evidence Reports.
ADR
5/05:
ANCHORAGES FOR SEAT BELTS
Upper
and lower seat belt anchorages are to be tested ‘at the same’, actual test
reports required not just the Summary of Evidence Reports.
ADR
8/01:
SAFETY GLAZING MATERIAL
The use of
laminated glass for windscreen glazing is to ensure the mark “LP” is present
on the windshield.
ADR
11/00:
INTERNAL SUN VISORS
Must be fitted
to all vehicle that have a full windscreen and must comply with this ADR (ie
soft edges).
ADR
18/03:
INSTRUMENTATION
The
instrumentation layout of the vehicle has to be in accordance with the
requirements of ADR 18/03 including the speedometer intervals marked at 10 km/h
and speed values marked every 20 km/h. Regardless of where the unit is sourced
it must be calibrated and the calibration certificate provided by the client.
The speed indicated CAN NEVER BE LESS THAN THE TRUE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE and the
accuracy is in accordance with the formula indicated at clause 5.3.( essentially
the speedometer always showing the exact true vehicle speed or plus a small
POSITIVE margin of error (about 4% max)).
ADR
29/00:
SIDE DOOR STRENGTH
If fitted with
doors they must contain anti-side intrusion bars of sufficient strength to allow
a comparison with other full volume manufactured vehicles. Suggest 32 mmX4mm
steel tube as a minimum, the end supports must be so designed so as to prevent
the bars (in the doors) entering the vehicle without seriously damaging (and
thereby absorbing energy) the body work around the hinge and door lock areas.
ADR
31/01:
HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEMS FOR PASSENGER CARS
A NEW abridged
brake test (officially titled Abridged Brake Test to ADR 31/01) has been
approved by the RTA, this allows for a hybrid system made up of brake systems
from various makes of vehicles. Important to note that the test cannot be
carried out on a public road.
ADR
60/00:
CENTRE HIGH-MOUNTED STOP LIGHT
The
vehicle is to be fitted with a red centre high-mounted stop light that is ADR
approved, the light is activated when the service brake is activated and be
positioned in excess of 850 mm from the road surface.
ADR
79/02:
EMISSION CONTROL FOR LIGHT VEHICLES
A
satisfactory IM240 exhaust emissions test is required to ADR 37/01 following a
recent relaxation by the RTA. In short the ICV need not comply with ADR 79/02
but does for ADR 37/01.
ADR
83/00:
EXTERNAL NOISE
All muffler/s
and catalytic converter/s are to have a small metal tag identifying a unique
code (say your initials and the number 777 eg JWW777).
